MISSION
Drive up hype for the new Fall Guys season 'Satellite Scramble' with a space-inspired stunt
For an exciting promotion of the newest, space-themed season of multiplayer game Fall Guys, Mediatonic decided to send a Fall Guys bean where no bean has gone before — into space. From there, it would be ejected from over 100,000 feet in celebration of the new season.
EXECUTION
With the weather on our side, we conducted a series of launches for Fall Guys from our home site in the UK. Alongside a space-capable screen, we designed and developed a prop bench featuring a rather sleepy Fall Guys bean for this multi-launch marketing stunt. The bench featured a plaque emblazoned with the message "The Official Bench of Fall Guys: Sit for free from 2022" to reflect the accessibility of the game.
As the craft neared 100,000 feet, we ejected the bean from the bench as a nod to Fall Guys' signature gameplay. To complement the character and allow for a direct message to be broadcast amongst the clouds, we supplemented the hero edit with a digital display to air the season's trailer at the flight's peak.
The promotional video featuring the bean in space was posted on the Fall Guys YouTube channel, where it has amassed over a million views and almost 30K likes.
