Activate Bank Mandiri's mobile apps in space to celebrate the bank's 25th anniversary
As Indonesia's largest bank, Bank Mandiri wanted to celebrate their 25th anniversary in style. They came to us to help them activate their banking apps 100,000 feet above the Earth to put a world-first feat under their belt.
EXECUTION
We built a bespoke screen array, attaching one mobile phone to each side of a tablet display. The phones were to display each of Bank Mandiri’s apps, which would be activated in space by robotic arms.
Our engineers programmed the robotic arms in advance so that they moved to a precise angle, for the best chances of a successful app activation. In the centre of the screen array, the tablet was programmed to showcase the brand’s 25th anniversary animation.
Launch day rolled around and went off without a hitch — thanks to our engineers and two robotic arms, we successfully completed the first banking app activation in space! The final video of the launch was posted on Bank Mandiri’s YouTube channel, garnering 1.5 million views.
