Case study 1 – Sony Music

Newly signed to the Sony Music record label, Kelvin Jones received the SentIntoSpace treatment for his new music video Call You Home.

Our engineers were thrown the challenge of sending a small, portable, Sony branded television into space. No mean feat considering the weight of the item but we like a challenge here so were more than happy to oblige. The key considerations for the team centered around the visual impact of the item once launched, stability of the set up and, of course, getting as high as possible to produce the most spectacular images we could.

In the end two launches were conducted to cover all of the best angles of the TV set. With a quick trip to the beautiful Welsh valleys for some location filming and a spot of drone work the shoot was complete and we certainly feel the result speaks for itself.

Following the release of the video, Kelvin quickly racked up more than half a million views and has continued to make strong waves in the industry. We wish Kelvin the best for the future and I’m sure he’ll remember this shoot for quite some time. In the man’s own words:

Some words on the project from Will Stevens, Kelvin’s product manager at Sony:

“Still get such great feedback about the video –
think it was a great idea and the delivery was amazing”

Below are a few of our snaps from the shoot.
